The Toning filter has many uses other than toning B&W photographs. It will act on any RGB image. I look at it like a variable 81A filter that allows you to give that yellow tint to your pictures, as if they were shot near the end of the day. All SilverOxide filters will work on layers and on masked areas. Create a mask on one area of your picture. Activate the filter; remember which area of the picture you masked and adjust the depth of color, and apply the filter. Only the masked area will have changed. Make tobacco colored skies if you want. The Toning filter is a creative watershed.

The Toning slider acts just as if you left the print in the toning solution longer.

Choose the color of the Toning.

This filter is enabled for layer and 16 bit operation, and will work on 8 bit images.

The filter works with any RGB image. You can use it with a color image on a layer to give a color bias to the image.The final toned image will have to be clipped on the low end to deepen the color.
